Jakarta – The government continues to encourage the use of
clean and sustainable energy to support national energy security while also
improving community welfare. One of the concrete steps being taken is the
development of Household Gas Networks (Jargas), which are believed to provide
strategic benefits such as expanding energy access, creating jobs, and
strengthening the economy.
As part of its support for this initiative, Pertamina Gas
Negara together with PGN Solution signed a framework contract for the
construction of natural gas networks (Jargas) for households, small customers,
and commercial industries. The event took place at the Multimedia Room,
Building A, 1st Floor, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk Head Office, and was
attended by the Board of Directors of Pertamina Gas Negara, the Board of
Directors of PGN Solution, the Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory
Agency, Ms. Erika Retnowati, A.K., M.Si., as well as representatives from the
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
The signing was carried out by the Director of Strategy and
Business Development of Pertamina Gas Negara, Ms. Rosa Permata Sari, and the
President Director of PGN Solution, Mr. Sabaruddin. This agreement represents a
tangible form of synergy between the government and state-owned energy
enterprises to accelerate the realization of Jargas development in priority
regions.
The planned Jargas infrastructure development will be
implemented in Surabaya–Gresik and the Batam Distribution Network Area (WJD)
during the 2025–2027 period. Specifically for Batam City, the area has been
designated as a pilot project for the overlay between LPG and Pertamina Group’s
Jargas, as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the utilization of
natural gas for the community.
In his remarks, President Director of PGN Solution, Mr.
Sabaruddin, emphasized, “PGN Solution is fully committed to supporting the
government’s efforts in expanding the use of natural gas for the community.
Through the development of Jargas, we are ready to deliver cleaner, more
efficient, and sustainable energy, strengthening national energy security and
supporting Indonesia’s energy transition targets. We believe the benefits of
this program will be increasingly tangible for the community through strong collaboration
with the government.”
Through this initiative, Pertamina Gas Negara together with
PGN Solution reaffirm their full support for government policies in delivering
more accessible, safe, and sustainable environmentally friendly energy. The
development of Jargas is expected not only to reduce carbon emissions but also
to strengthen national energy independence for a greener and more competitive
future for Indonesia.
