JAKARTA – Pertamina Gas Negara (PGN), in collaboration with PGN Solution, has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding access to sustainable energy through the official commencement of the Household Gas Network (Jargas) development project in Batam City. This strategic initiative forms part of an integrated natural gas infrastructure program aimed at delivering safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly energy solutions for the community, while strengthening energy resilience in urban areas. Throughout its implementation, all stages of the Jargas project construction strictly adhere to rigorous technical standards and place strong emphasis on Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) aspects as top priorities within Pertamina’s Gas Subholding.

The Director of Infrastructure and Technology of Pertamina Gas Negara, Mr. Hery Murahmanta, stated that the project represents a strong alignment of vision between PGN and PGN Solution in advancing national energy self-reliance.

“This project is a manifestation of solid synergy within the Gas Subholding. We are committed to ensuring that every phase of the work is carried out in a measured and effective manner, in order to deliver high-quality infrastructure that meets the expectations of all stakeholders,” he said.

In line with this, the Director of Finance and Business Support of PGN Solution, Mr. Ariadi, emphasized that the development of the household gas network in Batam City reflects the company’s focus on providing energy services that deliver direct benefits to the community.

“Through the development of this household gas network, PGN Solution aims to provide energy services that are more practical, integrated, and aligned with the needs of urban communities, while also supporting improvements in quality of life through the utilization of natural gas as a reliable energy source,” he explained.

With the commencement of construction in Batam City, PGN Solution continues to position itself as a strategic partner in supporting the national energy transition agenda. This initiative represents a tangible contribution to optimizing the potential of natural gas as a transition energy toward a more sustainable future.
